Participants from VARANS are Deputy Director General (DDG) Dang Thanh Luong, DDG Le Quang hiep, DDG Le Chi Dung and Heads of VARANS Divisions. EC delegation includes experts from Nuclear Safety Authority of France (ASN), Radiation and Nuclear Safety Autority of Finland (STUK), EC, and is lead by Mr. Pierre Chuilon – Head of Sector Nuclear Safety, EuropeAid Cooperation Office, EC.

                

During the framework, EC experts presented EC procedure and steps, tasks, periods of the Project. They also introduced role of the Regulatory Authorities Management Group (RAMG) and Country Coordinator. Two parties will discuss and unify preparation of the technical contents of the Terms of Reference (TOR) and identify detailed definitions and contents of Task 1-6 of the Project. Preliminary, Action Fiche for Instrument for Nuclear Safety Co-operation (INSC) Program 2010 will be discussed and defined.

DG Ngo Dang Nhan emphasized the significance of this Project for VARANS in the developing a national regulatory framework and especially in the context of introduction of nuclear power in Vietnam. He also expressed the desire to further develop cooperation with EC.
